Our club field features...

Our flying field is located south of the Harrisonburg, Virginia, city limits off of U.S. Route 11. It is east of the highway directly behind the Village Inn motel & restaurant. The entrance to the field is across from (and just south of) the entrance to the Rockingham County Fairgrounds. The GPS coordinates of the field are 38° 22.98' North by 78° 55.26' West.

This field is for use only by members of the Valley R.C. Flying Club and accompanied guests. To fly you must be a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) or the Model Aeronautics Association of Canada (MAAC). All flying must be done in accordance with the AMA Safety Code.

The Less-Restrictive Flying Field Usage Rules Are In Effect

  • Sundays: No activity of any kind is permitted until after 12:30pm. Any normal flying field activity may occur from 12:30pm until sundown. From sundown until 11pm the only activity permitted is flying electric aircraft. No activity of any kind is permitted after 11pm.
  • Mondays - Saturdays: No activity of any kind is permitted until sun-up. Any normal flying field activity may occur from sun-up until sundown. From sundown until 11pm the only activity permitted is flying electric aircraft. No activity of any kind is permitted after 11pm.


September 1 - January 31


The More-Restrictive Flying Field Usage Rules Are In Effect

  • Mondays & Tuesdays: No activity of any kind is permitted until sun-up. Any normal flying field activity may occur from sun-up until sundown. From sundown until 11pm the only activity permitted is flying electric aircraft. No activity of any kind is permitted after 11pm.
  • Wednesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays: No activity of any kind is permitted until sun-up. Any normal flying field activity may occur from sun-up until 3pm. After 3pm no activity of any kind is permitted.
  • Saturdays: No activity of any kind is permitted until sun-up. Any normal flying field activity may occur from sun-up until 2:30pm. After 2:30pm no activity of any kind is permitted and the property must be vacated.
